As a small, nimble, and specialist Town Planning firm based in Melbourne’s inner east, our client prides themselves on their ability to provide expert planning services while fostering strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and local councils.

Their projects span residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments, ensuring a dynamic and engaging work environment. As they continue to grow, we have been engaged to find them a highly skilled and driven Team Leader – Statutory Planning to join them on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced planning professional to take the next step in their career, leading and mentoring a team of talented planners while playing a key role in the success of development approvals.

About the Role In this leadership position, you will:
  • Oversee and manage complex planning projects from initial concept through to final approval.
  • Provide expert guidance on planning policies, zoning regulations, and development requirements.
  • Prepare and submit planning permit applications and development approvals to relevant authorities.
  • Collaborate with clients, councils, and stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Mentor and support junior planners, fostering a high-performance and growth-oriented team culture.
  • Support the sole Director with business improvements, marketing and business development initiatives.  
What We’re Looking For - Someone with:
  • Extensive experience in statutory planning, with a strong background in development approvals.
  • In-depth knowledge of planning legislation, policies, and regulatory frameworks in Victoria.
  • Proven track record of managing and delivering complex planning projects.
  • Strong leadership skills with a passion for mentoring and team development.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Urban Planning, Town Planning, or a related field.
