An exciting opportunity has opened up for an experienced lighting designer to work with a well-known, award-winning practice designing bespoke custom lights.

The Role:

Positioned in the heart of Melbourne CBD, surrounded by premier bars and cafes, you'll collaborate with a committed team of lighting designers. Together, you will be supporting interior design experts in transforming ideas into reality, making a lasting impact on a wide array of projects. Contribute your creative expertise to hospitality, commercial, hotel, and residential ventures, elevating each design. You will be tasked with converting the design narrative and intent expressed in the Conceptual Presentation into a comprehensive documentation package, including drawings, schedules, and specifications

• Impact diverse projects: hospitality, commercial, hotel, residential
• Translate design narrative from Conceptual Presentation into documentation package
• Guide project and support staff on essential lighting goals, principles, and factors for upscale hospitality settings

Who You Will Be:

Ideally, you will be an experienced lighting designer who has experience working on hospitality bespoke lighting in the past. You will be an experienced AutoCAD user and understand how to proficiently use SketchUp and complete markups through Bluebeam. You will have a good understanding of working on different phases of a project, ensuring adherence to established lighting designs and able to collaborate with a team.

• Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Bluebeam for markup creation
• Experienced lighting designer with hospitality bespoke lighting background
• Proven experience mentoring and supporting staff on key lighting objectives
• Able to identify areas of improvement approaches and collaborate in a team environment of lighting designers and interior designers
• Capable of collaborating with a team to establish project vision and create design proposals
