This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in overseeing water infrastructure projects that support sustainable urban growth.
As a Development Engineer, You will be responsible for:
- Assessing and reviewing designs for new water infrastructure projects, including subdivisions and stormwater management strategies.
- Providing technical recommendations on waterway design, flood resilience, and stormwater reuse.
- Liaising with developers, councils, and key stakeholders to ensure projects meet policy and legislative requirements.
- Supporting the preparation of reports, briefs, and presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
- Representing technical decisions in forums, including VCAT, as required.
- A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualifications/experience.
- Experience with the Victorian Planning process, ideally within Victorian Local Government, water authorities or consultancy.
- Proven ability to assess and approve development plans and manage statutory planning processes.
- Knowledge of floodplain management, drainage, and stormwater engineering practices.
- Familiarity with relevant policies, procedures, and legislation.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- A valid Victorian Driver's Licence.
